Maj. Gen. Leopoldo A. Quintas, who has served on Fort Stewart in the past, was installed as the commanding general of the installation and its 3rdInfantry Division Monday morning.

“To me this is home and it is great to be home,” Quintas said during his change of command ceremony.

He replaces Maj. Gen. Jim Rainey, who has been assigned to be assistant deputy chief of staff, G3/5/7 or operations and information for the Army in Washington, D.C.

Quintas had been deputy chief of staff for operations and information at Fort Bragg.
