SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia jury is deliberating the case of an Effingham County man accused of killing his father and brother in a bloody end to a family feud over the defendant's affair with his slain brother's wife.

The jury began deliberations Thursday in the trial of 42-year-old Craig Heidt after hearing closing arguments from attorneys.

Prosecutor Michael Muldrew says testimony showed Heidt killed his father, real estate developer Philip Heidt, and brother, Carey Heidt, in August 2008 so he could run away with his sibling's wife and live off money inherited from the slain men.

Defense attorney Dow Bonds says police jumped to conclusions and built a case lacking in physical evidence. He says the real killer remains at large.
