Julie Dickey, area director with United Way of the Coastal Empire, Effingham County, who has worked with Ashley Moore, talks about her:

Q) Name and current job title?

A) Julie Dickey, Area Director, United Way of the Coastal Empire

Q) When did you first meet Moore?

A) I met Ashley when she became Executive Director of Family Promise of Effingham in 2014. I (as a volunteer with Family Promise) worked closely with her to help renovate her office and set up the brand-new organization.

Q) What roles has Moore played within the community and or organization?

A) Ashley served as ED for FPE for 2 years, and has devoted her time since to family counseling.

Q) How does her character make her great at what she does?

A) Ashley’s character is one of integrity and commitment. Serving as ED, she was a good steward of donated resources, ensuring families in the program received the absolute best care while working through their homeless circumstances. Her caring personality kept volunteers engaged and energized to ensure families were successful in their efforts. Ashley’s warm smile, kind words and trusting countenance make her great at leading non-profits, engaging her community and helping families (through counseling).

Q) How have you seen her ability to counsel families and or children impact local families?

A) I have seen local families find hope and peace through Ashely’s counseling. She connects well with younger clients, but has enough life-experience to understand and lead adults through tough times as well. She is such a golden resource for families facing challenges in our world that’s moving at lightning speed.

Q) What do you feel she will ultimately bring to Bryan County with her skill set?

A) I believe Ashley will bring fresh hope and a positive outlook for families who are looking for grace and sound advice to move forward. We’re all experiencing this crazy life together, but we’re often not taking time to talk with each other about our struggles. Ashley understands our struggles, and has compassion and wisdom for the young and old. I value Ashley as a friend and peer, and would entrust her with my own family’s needs.
