SAVANNAH — Orthopedic surgeon David Sedory has joined the network of physicians at Optim Orthopedics, seeing patients at its Savannah, Richmond Hill and Hinesville clinics.

Most recently Sedory was chief of surgery at Winn Army Community Hospital on Fort Stewart. From 2011 through 2017 he was the team physician/surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Hunter.

Sedory is a board certified surgeon. He said non-operative measures should be the first option in nearly all patients, but employs a wide variety of surgical techniques to get his patients back to their desired activities when conservative measures fail. He is a specialist in arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee and shoulder. His practice focuses on joint and cartilage preservation surgeries.

"I am excited to join the Optim Orthopedics team," Sedory said. "I have had the honor to care for a vast array of patients, including our brave men and women serving our military, and look forward to continuing to bring that same compassionate care to my Optim patients."

Sedory earned his medical degree from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2005 and completed his orthopedic internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, now San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. He obtained additional training in hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgeries in Nashville, Tenn. and at Duke University and has performed hundreds of arthroscopic hip surgeries since 2013.

He and his wife, Stacey, live in Richmond Hill and have one son.
