Open houses, back to school rallies mark last week of summer vacation

With the first day of school right around the corner open houses and back to school rallies are in full swing this week.

Richmond Hill Primary School will hold its open house tonight from 4-6 p.m. Richmond Hill Middle School and Bryan County Elementary School’s open houses are from 5-7 p.m. tonight and the open house for Bryan County Middle will be tonight from 6-8 p.m.

Richmond Hill High School and Bryan County High School’s open houses will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and the open house for Richmond Hill Elementary School will be from 5-7 p.m. the same night.

The Lanier Primary School open house is also 5-7p.m. Thursday.

The Richmond Hill Pre-K and George Washington Carver Elementary had their open houses on Tuesday.

The organization Unity in the Community is also holding a back to school event Saturday from 1 p.m. -4 p.m. at Plantation Apartments, Harris Trail, and 201 Casey Drive.

chool supplies will be given out and there will be a bouncy house, family music, and a talent show.

Coordinator Craig Butts says, “this event is to help families in this apartment community who are low income and in need of help with school supplies.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the event and they are still taking donations. If you’d like to donate school supplies you can either bring them Saturday or call 912-756-3254 to setup up a drop off time.

The Faze 2 Ryderz Auto Club will also be giving out school supplies Saturday at the Senior Center in Richmond Hill from 1-3 p.m.

The school supplies will be handed out for the first hour then there will be hot dogs, face painting, and games.  The Richmond Hill fire department will also have a truck on site, according to club president Darcel Miller.
