This year is the first time Richmond Hill resident Marty Martinez has used the Christmas tree recycling program in J.F. Gregory Park, but it won’t be his last.
“I saw the sign and thought it sounded like a good idea. I’ll definitely use it again,” Martinez said.
City officials hope that Martinez will be just one of many residents to take advantage of the yearly “Bring One for the Chipper” holiday program.
Residents can drop their Christmas tree off anytime in J.F. Gregory Park at the recycling point through Saturday, when the trees will be run through a chipper and turned into mulch.
