The city of Pembroke is gearing up for its annual National Night Out, which is set for 5-8 p.m. Saturday in Dubois Square in downtown Pembroke.
Sponsored by the Pembroke Police Department, Pembroke Fire Department and the Bryan County Drug Free Coalition, the event will include a unity walk, a dunk tank, children’s activities, free hot dogs, safety displays, informational booths and much more.
There will also be raffle prizes for the taking. Tickets are free with the donation of unopened cat or dog food for the Bryan County Animal Shelter. Otherwise, tickets are $1, and individuals must be present to claim their prize.
The event is part of the National Night Out effort to promote community involvement in crime prevention activities and police-community partnerships.
For more information about the event, call Pembroke Downtown Development Authority Director Sharroll Fanslau at 653-4413.
