Motorists headed south on I-95 around noon Saturday saw this scene as they entered Richmond Hill after a two-car crash left one car fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately for the driver, a Staten Island, N.Y. man stopped and pulled him from the burning car before it exploded. The driver of that car suffered minor injuries. The other driver, a Hinesville woman, and her daughter were unharmed.

One man suffered minor injuries in a two-car crash around noon Saturday on I-95 in Richmond Hill. The wreck sent an SUV and Honda Civic off the interstate and caused the Civic involved to burst into flame, but not before the driver was rescued by Efrain Acosta of Staten Island, who saw the accident and stopped to help.

"By all means, (Acosta's) the hero of the day," said Richmond Hill Fire Department Capt. Andy Burriss, who was among the firefighters who responded to the accident. "He stopped to help, went down and broke the car window and got the guy out before the car fully ignited.  He's the reason (the driver) is headed to the hospital with minor injuries."

The driver of the SUV, a Hinesville woman, and her passenger, were unharmed. The Georgia State patrol is investigating the accident.
