And just because it's on the disk, here's a shot of BCHS taking the field prior to the Redskins 19-0 loss to Toombs County. I like the way they do that up in Pembroke.

While at the Bryan County High School football game on Friday night -- and I'll try to get more online about that 19-0 contest by the end of the weekend -- I ran into BCHS grad Simon Murphy, a nice guy who was at the concession stand with kids Melvin, Aidan and Alyssa while mom Katrina was helping serve concessions.

Included in the blog is a photo of Aidin and Alyssa, who wondered why some bearded old dude (me) was pointing a camera at them after their brother Melvin (who isn't in this photo ... the shots he was in turned out bad, unfortunately) asked me to get their photo. I told them I'd try and if I got a good one I'd get it online.

Especially since they're classy Georgia Bulldog fans, or at least Melvin is. I'm not sure Aidan and Alyssa know what a Georgia Bulldog is yet, but Melvin sure does.

I know this because I had on a Gamecock shirt and Melvin, whom I'm guessing is about 6, was on my case about it. Good naturedly.

"Does your shirt say Gamecocks? I don't like the Gamecocks. You like the Gamecocks? I like the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs can beat the Gamecocks. Have the Bulldogs and Gamecocks ever played? Who won? I bet it was the Bulldogs."

I know a lot of Dawg fans I like and a lot who I don't like, and I suspect that goes both ways. But for what it's worth, I thought Melvin was one of the classiest Dawg fans I've run into in a while. Nice to meet you, Melvin. Good luck to your team this year except when the Doggies play the Gamecocks.
