Richmond Hill resident Jennifer Balduff, second from right, receives on June 5 a framed copy of the city’s proclamation making the week of June 25 CPR Awareness Week. The city’s action was sparked by Balduff’s life-saving efforts to save a 5-year-old from drowning in the Main Street subdivision pool in May.

The Richmond Hill Police Department will sponsor a free CPR and first-aid training class from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday in the RHPD courtroom.

The class honors Jennifer Balduff and the life-saving measures she took May 3, when she saved a 5-year-old from drowning in the Main Street subdivision pool.

Baldruff’s efforts were recognized June 5 by the Richmond Hill City Council, which proclaimed the week of June 25 as CPR Awareness Week.
