The Richmond Hill City Council is hoping to replace signs that were once posted at the city limits announcing the local high school's status as state champions in basketball.

Council member Jimmy Hires told fellow members that the signs that had graced the entrance to the city apparently had disappeared recently and that some basketball players were requesting they be replaced.

The council unanimously approved having City Manager Mike Melton look into the cost of having the signs remade and re-erected.

In other business, the council unanimously approved a new contract with OMI, the company that manages the city's wastewater treatment plant and water service, and a $400,000 bid for an updated supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, which helps monitor water and sewer usage in the city and more.
