Richmond Hill High School made Homecoming night something worth celebrating on Friday, knocking off South Effingham 24-10.
The win improved the Wildcats to 4-0 while the Mustangs dropped to 1-3, but the game was close throughout.
After a scoreless first quarter, the two teams traded field goals in the second quarter -- Richmond Hill's came on a 23-yard effort from Canon Rooker -- to go into the locker room tied at halftime.
The Wildcats upped the score to 10-3 on 6-yard run from running back T.J. Franklin with 5:03 left in third quarter, then he and quarterback Dominique Allen hooked up on a nifty 31-yard TD pass and catch with 2:29 left in the third to put RHHS up 16-3.
The Mustangs pulled to within 16-10 early in the fourth quarter, but Alex Cruz answered on the next play with an 80-yard run and Allen ran in the two-point conversion.

Note: At halftime, Mary Henderson was crowned 2011 Homecoming queen.
